Install in three steps

  1. 01 Download

    Click Download for Windows or Download for Mac.

  2. 02 Run it

    On Windows, open the installer from your Downloads folder. It installs for your Windows account, so you don’t need admin rights. On a Mac, open the .dmg and drag Build PlanReader into Applications.

    If Windows shows 'Windows protected your PC', choose More info, then Run anyway.

  3. 03 Sign in with your Build account

    Use the same account as the Build app. New to Build? Create account.

Requirements

  • Windows 10/11, 64-bit
  • macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon
  • About 190 MB to download on Windows, about 330 MB on a Mac
  • No account needed to install. A free Build account saves your work to your company.

It updates itself

Download it once. When a new version is out, Update shows at the top of the app; click it to install without losing unsaved work. You can also choose Check for updates in the Account menu.

Your companies

It's the same Build account and the same records as the phone. On more than one company team? Switch companies from your profile; each company's work stays separate.

What’s new for Windows in 0.1.125

Released Oct 28, 2026

Kyle sets itself up for each of your companies on this computer, and starts working as soon as its first run finishes.

  • The first run's last step starts Kyle right away, instead of waiting for your next sign-in.
  • A second company's first run on the same computer joins the Kyle already there: one home, set up for each company.
  • A stair on a proposal stays in the base bid unless you said, in your own words, to carry it as an alternate, and the proposal check quotes you.
  • Also in this release: everything else on main since 0.1.124.
